Welcome to Bahia Aqua Verde, Baja California Sur, Mexico

(Puerto Aqua Verde)

"Approximately 64 Km south of Loreto, where Mexico 1 veers inland from the Cortez Coast, a part-graded, part un-graded, gravel-and-dirt road heads southeast for 41 Km (25.5 miles) to the fish camp of Aqua Verde (25'36.51 N; 111'18.88 W).  The roadbed is steep and winding in places, not at all suitable for trailers or motor homes.  As the road approached Aqua Verde, it flattens out and divides into several tracks running to five small coves scalloped into the bay shore.  The turquoise waters are framed by Islas Monserrate and Santa Catalina to the north and east, and hillsides of paloverde, paloblanco, cardon, palm, and mesquite to the west.  Very picturesque.

Local residents make a living herding goats, fishing for small shark (cazon), or servicing a steady trickle of outside visitors who brave the road in from Mexico 1. "
