SAN JOSE DEL CABO - LOS CABOS - Baja California Sur, Mexico

Dining Out
Over-View

Los Cabos' "Early to bed, early to rise" image has taken a beating in the last couple of years. As the resort begins to attract more sun-seekers than fishermen, new evening attractions are opening. Dining is more varied in Cabo San Lucas than in San José del Cabo. There are also several excellent hotel restaurants throughout the area.

Overall dining tends to be on the expensive side, since nearly everything has to be brought into the region (except of course, seafood). Many establishments feature prime American beef and fresh imported produce.

There are, however, some good value-priced meals, as competition has brought down prices. Cabo is, perhaps, Mexico's best beach resort for taco stands - mostly in Cabo San Lucas.

Nightlife

In San José del Cabo there are fiesta nights at most area hotels. For dancing head to Bones (formerly "Cactus") at the Presidente, Iguana Bar, and El Eclipse.

In Cabo San Lucas, the nightlife is just emerging with a handful of new clubs and bars. For dancing there is Studio 94 (the new "Lukas"), Cabo Wabo, and Squid Roe. Popular bars include The Giggling Marlin, Rio Grill, California Bar and Mi Bar. For a quieter setting head to the Whaler Watcher's Bar at the Hotel Finisterra.
