THE AUTHOR: Gene Kira has traveled among the people of Baja
Californias remote fish camps for over 30 years. Born and raised in San Diego, he
has a degree in English Literature, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia
University. He has been a military newspaper editor in northern Italy, a combat
photographer in Vietnam, a newspaper editor in Rome, a magazine editor in New York, a
farmer, and a graphic designer. He currently writes full time from his home near San
Diego, where he lives with his wife and two children. His books include the award-winning
novel, King Of The Moon; the youth soccer rule book, Understanding

sport fishing guidebook, The Baja Catch, 3rd
